My Go-To Taco Night Ingredientsย 

One of the best things about Mexican cuisine is the fresh and healthy vegetables and other simple ingredients that are used. Here are some of my favourites.ย 

  • tomatoes โ€“ essential for the perfect salsa.
  • black beans and refried beans โ€“ adds protein, complex carbohydrates and fibre.ย 
  • fresh corn โ€“ a great source of vitamin A and fibre.ย 
  • jalapeรฑo โ€“ for added spice.ย 
  • tortilla chips โ€“ a staple for taco Tuesday. Most tortilla chips are gluten-free but just double check the pack if youโ€™re gluten intolerant.ย 
  • sour cream โ€“ for a dairy free version try this easyย vegan sour creamย recipe made from cashews.ย 
  • cabbage โ€“ for a more tex Mex style, use cabbage to make the a fresh and crunchy slaw.
