This creamy dill salad dressing goes perfectly drizzled over my Tuna Corn Salad, or use to drizzle over your favourite salads and veggies. It would also be delicious to dress my Beetroot and Crispy Lentil Salad or my Honey Roasted Carrot and Lentil Salad. And if you love this salad dressing then you might also like to try my 5-minute Greek Yoghurt Dressing or my Dairy Free Tzatziki.

What’s To Love About Creamy Dill Salad Dressing

If the thought of making your own salad dressing seems daunting, don’t worry! Making your own salad dressings is SO easy and they taste way better than store-bought. Not to mention they are often much better for you as well, using healthy, wholesome ingredients with no artificial flavours, excess sugar or preservatives. Homemade salad dressings are quick and easy to make, you won’t regret it! Here’s what I love about this creamy dill salad dressing.

  • full of flavour – with flavoursome ingredients like fresh lemon juice, yoghurt, fresh dill and mayonnaise, this creamy dressing will level up the taste of your next salad.
  • made using simple ingredients – all of the ingredients used in this recipe can be easily found at your local grocery store.
  • quick & easy to make –  make this homemade salad dressing in just 5 minutes using simple equipment (no food processor or blender required).
  • allergy friendly – easily make this dressing dairy free.

Ingredients Notes & Substitutions

To make this simple salad dressing you will need the following simple ingredients.

Would you like to save this?

We’ll email this post to you, so you can come back to it later!

  • mayonnaise
  • natural yoghurt – I’ve used a natural, unsweetened coconut yoghurt to make this dressing dairy free. You can also use regular natural yoghurt, plain Greek yoghurt or even sour cream.
  • fresh dill – dill is the star of this recipe, however you can easily swap out dill for other fresh herbs like parsley, fresh chives or fresh basil.
  • fresh lemon juice – I always prefer to use fresh lemon juice instead of bottled lemon juice for salad dressings as it has a better flavour.
  • sea salt – this recipe calls for finely ground sea salt. If using sea salt flakes you may need to add more salt to taste.
  • cracked black pepper
  • extra virgin olive oil – other oils you could use are avocado oil or flaxseed oil.

How to Make Creamy Dill Dressing

It really couldn’t get more simple then making this salad dressing. Simple add the mayonnaise, natural yoghurt, fresh dill, lemon juice, salt, pepper and olive oil to a small bowl. Then whisk to combine until the dressing is smooth and creamy.

Storage

Store in a glass airtight container or glass jar with the lid firmly fitted, in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Serving Suggestions

My creamy dill sauce is so versatile, whether you’re using it to dress up vegetables or using it as a dipping sauce, it will take your dish to the next level. Here are some of my favourite ways to use this dressing.

  • drizzle over cooked salmon, tuna or chicken.
  • spread on sandwiches
  • as a dip – serve alongside vegetable crudités (like carrots, cucumbers and celery) and crackers.
  • drizzle over grilled zucchini or asparagus.
  • use to dress roasted radishes and blanched green beans.
  • use to dress pasta salad or potato salad.
  • serve over my tuna corn salad.
