Slice each apple into quarters, carefully remove the core and dice.
Add the diced apple to a large saucepan or pot along with the water. Place the lid onto the saucepan and bring to a boil.
Once boiling, reduce to the lowest heat, stirring the apples from time to time. Cook with the lid on for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes remove the lid, turn the heat up to medium and continue to cook, stirring occasionally to cook evenly. Once the apples are soft and falling apart and most of the liquid has evaporated, remove from the heat.
Puree the cooked apples using a handheld blender or by transferring them to a high-speed blender once cooled to room temperature. Blend until smooth.
Store the applesauce in clean glass jars in the fridge for up to 5 days.
